Rana Sanga (also known as Maharana Sangram Singh) was a Rajput ruler of Mewar, a region in present-day Rajasthan, India. It is widely believed that he was born on April 12, 1482, in Malwa, Rajasthan, India. He ruled from 1509 to 1527 and was known for his valiant efforts to resist the expansion of the Mughal Empire under Babur.
